 \n\nUkrainian double bassist Timur Babahyn was born in Kyiv in 1984. Early
  in his studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory\, he began transcribing Ba
 ch's violin sonatas and partitas for the lower register of the double bass
 . During his studies\, he received his first professional training from th
 e renowned Baroque flautist Eckert Carsten at the Bern University of the A
 rts. After his time in Bern\, he moved to London to study for a year with 
 the legendary Rinat Ibragimov\, from whom he learned a unique bowing techn
 ique. Not yet satisfied\, he eventually went to Graz to study the Viennese
  style with Ernst Weissensteiner. Back in Ukraine\, Timur frequently perfo
 rmed as a soloist and collaborated on numerous chamber music projects with
  other soloists from the National Organ Hall of Ukraine. However\, lacking
  a deeper understanding of Baroque music\, he sought out Baroque specialis
 t Margaret Urquhart and began studying at the Conservatoire of The Hague.
 \n\nTimur has been a permanent member of the Interlaken Classics Festival 
 Orchestra since its founding.\n\n
