Discover Classical Music – Concerts for Our Regular Audience and New Guests
Our festival has pursued two major goals for many years: promoting young talent and inspiring a wide audience with classical music. We aim to attract people of all ages—especially younger generations—to the beauty of this art form, while preserving and further developing its long tradition.
Experiencing classical music in new ways – for all generations
We bring timeless masterpieces to the stage, works that have touched generations of music lovers. We focus on the greatest composers and their most beloved pieces to bring the emotional power of classical music closer to a wide audience. Our goal is not only to delight experts but also to engage and inspire young, curious listeners. Through innovative programming and fresh interpretations, we create unforgettable musical experiences that make classical music accessible in new—or even first—ways, for all ages.
Youthful excellence at the highest level
What makes our festival truly unique is the infectious energy of our young musicians. They come to Interlaken from all over the world to breathe new life into classical masterpieces with passion and precision.
In line with these visions, we are looking forward to four exceptional concerts in the 2026 season:
April 2, 2026 – Parallel Quartet
We are delighted to welcome back the extraordinary string quartet from Madrid to our stage. The four musicians explore the magical connection between film music and classical instrumentation, bringing the emotional power of iconic film soundtracks directly to the concert hall. With a program specially created for our festival, they transport us into the sound worlds of unforgettable film classics. The music moves, tells stories, and offers new perspectives on familiar masterpieces.
With this program, we aim to attract people who love film music and may never have attended a classical concert before. The Parallel Quartet demonstrates how diverse and vibrant classical instruments can sound—a concert evening that will captivate both classical music lovers and film enthusiasts alike.
April 4, 2026 – Cellissimo – Six Cellists
An unforgettable evening dedicated to the cello and two masterful works by Antonín Dvořák: the Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, and the Symphony No. 9, Op. 95 “From the New World.”
World-renowned cellist Maximilian Hornung will perform as soloist in Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, accompanied by an exceptional cello ensemble. Alongside Hornung, his teacher Thomas Grossenbacher, former fellow students, and talented protégés such as Paul Handschke (principal cellist of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich), Sandro Meszaros, Anna Tyka Nyffenegger, and Benjamin Nyffenegger will perform together. This ensemble will transport the audience into the wonderful sound world of Dvořák.
April 11, 2026 – The Faces collaboration | Strings with Eight Seasons
Experience a fascinating evening that brings the seasons to life in entirely new soundscapes.
The program features Vivaldi’s famous Four Seasons, Op. 8 and Astor Piazzolla’s thrilling The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. Two masterpieces sharing the same title but worlds apart in style—the string ensemble The Faces collaboration | Strings will unite the diversity and beauty of eight seasons in both classical and modern tango styles in one breathtaking concert.
